Frequently Asked Questions
Why does FareMeter - AUD currently only support Sydney Australia?
Taxi companies can specify different rates for fares and rules. As such; we are releasing and testing per region. If you would like a particular company and region to be supported we are currently only considering Australia. Send a feature request and we will determine the difficulty of implementing the appropriate taxi company
When will the next version be released?
For all details regarding releases including dates, feature and bug fixes please see Release Cycle Deliverables.
Why does it take so long to release new versions?
As this is a side project (until and if it takes off) it is only supported by very few developers. Resources are limited and as such we will do our utmost best to keep you informed of releases through our blog.
You say you support Android but the application screen-shots do not match my phone and/or my phone is not supported; why is this?
Android has many devices, versions, releases and different manufacturers and as such it is impossible to test for all devices. FareMeter - AUD uses the standard Android API and as such the manufacturer must implement the GPS correctly. Also as screen sizes are so very different it is extremely complicated to make it look perfect for every device.
Please email a feature request to support your phone with all details and we will be in contact ASAP. For faster support please donate.
